Not sure where Cleveland is, but I bet I'm not too far away, Prescott, Ar.

Darn impressive pig by the way.

Mighty fine looking pig there Doc. There are definitely some big ol' piney wood rooters in that area. From 1960 to 2007 we had a place about a mile north of SH-105. It was about 8 miles west of Cleveland. In an area known as Security. Tom Aiken bought our place and the 4500 acres surrounding it and did the Peach Creek Plantation development. Looking at the youpon, muscadine vines, pines, oaks and ironwood trees, that sandy soil, the pine needles and oak leaves on the ground sure brings back memories We had about a mile of frontage on peach creek. Those rooters would range up and down that creek. As a boy I can remember ranging up and down that creek with a 22 rifle. You would always hear stories from the old timers about how if you shot one they would all come after you. One time, when I was around 11 or 12 IIRC, I came upon a sounder of hogs. I drew a bead with my rifle on a prety good one. Shot him just under the ear. Whack, and he began to scream. In my excitement, I didn't wait to see what happened as I had already dropped my rifle and was half way up the tree I was under. Sure enough those hogs saw me and headed my way. I ended up perching in that tree for an hour or so till they went away.
Thanks for posting.
Best

That last pict hog sure has wavy hair--kinda like some Mulefoot hogs. He's a dandy. What size scope you got on that Marlin?
