My son and I jumped on the plane for a short trip to the Big Island of Hawaii...its about a 45 min. plane ride...

We hunted a friends 15,000 acre property at South Point which is the southern most point of the USA...

My 20 yr old son nailed a beautiful boar while it was tustling fiercely with another boar in the dense brush that stood at least 7 ft tall...He elevated himself on some rocks and shot this guy at 7 yds...I included a pic of the slash he received from the battle...These 3" tusks are razor sharp!

Later on that evening I shot a nice South Point Goat he measured 27" across and is considered very good for the area...

Aloha Bobby!

Since we travelled on such short notice my friend there loaned us his Remington BDL 30-06 rifle loaded with FACTORY Winchester 150gr Power-Points...All one-shot kills... DRT...

Son's shot was 7 yds and mine on the Billy was about 80 yds...We bumped a small herd of goats and the wind was in our favor, we stalked him and crawled at least 50 yds. before I gave him the KABOOM... Big Grin

BTW in a few more weeks I'll be working up loads for my Ruger MKII 6.5x55mm and my son's Savage being re-barreled with a 22.5" McGowen Premium Match Bead-Blasted Stainless Steel tube in 6.5x55mm...

I will definitely get back to you once we hit pay dirt... Big Grin

I appreciate all the info you've shared with me brother!!!

Aloha!

Ro

Ro-

You are quite welcome. beer

I will anxiously await your next report and photos! Maybe you guys will get to bag the brute that left the gash on your son's hog.

By the way, the terrain in your photos is beautiful.

Bobby

Hey thanks Bob...It certainly was a nice time with my son as its been a year since we hunted last in Africa and hunting anything at this point was just SWEET... Big Grin

The pigs were there but it was hard hunting because they stayed in the thick stuff as usual. On the last minute of the hunt I decided to whack the billy so I wouldn't go home empty-handed...just had the urge to SQUEEZE the trigger on anything at that point and see something drop in its tracks!!!

As I mentioned the billy is very good for that area... Big Grin

We'll try to get back soon and stay longer as there are some MONSTER TUSKERS out there and not much pressure!

If the POSSE ever plans a trip to Hawaii let me know and I'll hook you up wave

Aloha!

Ro

Its the first thing we noticed...hehehe

All my other billys from Waikoloa smelled like heavy urine for sure.... Big Grin

Vidal Sasoon? Must have been hanging out at the Marriott!

Good to see you made it over there Squeeze! I am trying to get back overthere myself. The Goat hunt I went on overthere kicked my butt....Not sure if it was the late night before the huge plate lunch or what but I was beat. The next time someone tells me to "hydrate up" I will drink 3 bottles of water instead of one.
Fun Times!
