Yes, it was hot!!

A few of us converged on west Texas southeast of Ft. Stockton for a javelina hunt last weekend. We hunted javelinas early in the morning and just before sundown. At night we called predators. Most of all we had a lot of fun getting together and catching up......

Bob

The area we hunted.

Sarge and his 52 lb. javelina taken with his 6.5 Grendel.

GonHuntin with his javelina.

GH's bobcat and grey fox.

Javelina has to be my second most sought after animal. Right after feral hogs. And I had to get my post count to 667. Good job. Packy

Thanks for the photos. That rattler would make a great belt.....looks like you defanged him...

Texas has been one of my prime destinations for hunting fun. But of late, the cost of gas makes it pretty tough. From home to the Kerrville/Mountain Home area, about $600+ round trip. CRYBABY Frowner Probably ought to strap my revolvers on to my motorcycle and just not plan to bring anything back but pictures..... Mad

Looks like everyone had a great time.

Looks like the ranch is recovering really well after the fire.

LSTO is a good place to hunt and Roy does a great job. thumb

Say, that looks like a heck of a lot of fun. How many buzztails did y'all see? I know one outfitter who hunts not far from Fort Stockton who quits booking after March because of the snakes.

Surprisingly Bill, the only one we saw was the one I shot. Typically we will see 5 or 6 a night, either on the road or in the bush walking out to pick up an animal.

Bob-

Great post and photos...thanks for sharing!!!

I see lots of green in the photos. Looks like that area is in much better shape rain-wise than here in south central TX, where everything is brown and parched.

Bob thanks for sharing the photos with us,we hunt a lot with spotligth here ,similar game foxes ,cats, hogs and hares. We hunt peccaries too but in thicker cover, with dogs ,we release the dogs ,usually small dogs in one side of the bush and wait in a dirty small road at the end of the bush ,generally with shotguns and buckshot.I hope someday hunt with you in Texas.Juan
