For a replacement hog to show up for the one taken 4 days ago. this one is definitely bigger and is definitely a boar.

Looking back at pictures, I realize there have been 2 or 3 hogs visiting.

This is possibly the one I shot:

This is the big one that showed again last night:

And this may be another one all together:

Yea, it doesn't take long for another boar to take over. As to being multiple boars, I thought the first set had 2 different hogs but wasn't certain. On one, the ears looked to be positioned almost straight up -- rather unique -- while the other was more conventional in that regard.

similar to a big-bass honey hole -- catch one and another soon takes it's place.

Bobby, your suspicions were obviously correct. I now think there may have been 4 different boars hitting the feeder. The one you mention with the ears straight up also had gray hairs around his tusks--and is probably the one that I shot. He also had a very long snout.

This is the one I think you are referring to:

Hogs, especially the boars seem to move around a lot with multiple territories/ranges overlapping each other.

I kill 4-5 boars to one sow. You may find a lone sow with pigs but mostly they run in sounders. Take a sow out of a sounder and they learn fast! A lone boar down is just an opportunity for the next GUY!

Hogs are much like coyotes. The old saying is:
"kill one and the hole fills up before the days over".
I've heard: "The only reason that happens is you just haven't killed enough of 'em yet".

Time to get with the program it seems like.

Have fun and good shooting.
