From this CNN story it does not appear that Smokin a Leopard out with a crowd of bystanders is a good idea!

So Nakihunter,
isn't this where you hail from?? Education level seems to be quite low and lacking, IMO.. Ya know, taunting a leopard, en mass no less, with sticks and poorly made torches isn't the smartest thing a person (or in this case, a whole village of idiots) can do, as evidenced in this video.

From the size, one wants to think "tiger", but sure looks to have spots and the head, speed, and waist of a leopard.

The video didn't lie. Smiler I merely call 'em as I see 'em.

As for insulting a nation, no need.. You've gone one step further and insulted an entire race of people on another thread and in the process (albeit a long winded one) exposed yourself as to whom you truly are, a grudge holding bigot.

Taking on a leopard with sticks and torches does seem foolhardy. But, using that pretext to pass snide comments on other societies or settle personal scores is better taken somewhere else than on a hunting forum. How rational is it to say Texas is full of Clan members just because there are always a couple in the shadows unable to escape from the chains of history?Stupid is what I think.

Did anyone notice the police constable with a rifle slung on his shoulder in the video? What do you think he was doing there?Leopards are a protected species in India and they cannot be killed unless it is deemed inevitable by the forest authorities. They decide it.Not the villagers. Shooting/killing it could have been done easily.Meanwhile, those villagers, who have to live with the effects of having a predator in the vicinity, were trying to chase it away before any harm was done.

BTW, leopards are routinely chased away by villagers, cattle herders and goat herders with nothing more than sticks and a few lusty screams. It works usually. It has nothing to do with lack of intelligence. It has everything to do with fighting with what you have.

Firearm ownership in India could be regarded as the exception, not the norm.
To qualify as the 'exception' you would have to be "someone".
The nondescript Indian citizen would fall into the 'norm' bracket - hence the sticks, stones and torches.
Is it not the Indian Govt's. policy to keep firearms off the street ? - a policy that stemmed from colonial times and kept in place for the same reason. Wink

It's an interesting video, shows the villagers with the courage to do what they had to do.
The inaccurate and insensitive remarks about the people of India above reflect only on those posters themselves.

Scotty

I dare you in a court of law to discuss this and the other thread and let your own Texas law decide who is a bigot! Not only do you lack objectivity and civility but you lack basic human decency and hence you stoop to name calling and personal attacks. I suggest that you print out the entire thread and show it to a human rights lawyer or a similar expert and check if I have insulted an entire race or if you have a very poor understanding of the English language and basic logic.

I am proud to be of Indian heritage. But mostly I am proud to be a human being with tolerance for all races and people groups. I am proud to not pass judgment on entire people groups based on some incident in history involving a few people. I am also proud of my ability to recognise the various facts of history that I know about. I am particularly proud to stand up to people like you who are dishonest enough to deny the impact of colonialism and neo-colonialism on other societies and then try to hide your inhuman nature by abusing and name calling.

You know nothing about me, my family or friends, including people from different ethnic and people groups. Your one dimensional ethnocentrism is a disgrace to human kind.

That is the longest winded post I've ever read just to insult somebody! Seems to me that you like insulting folks by spicing your posts up with a ton of adjectives to get your jabs in and make yourself seem superior.

I basically said the same thing you just did in one word. I find it easier just to come out and say it.. Leftists hate that! You think I'm a bigot..I think you're a bigot. I just said it directly and you beat the bush's leaves and limbs off trying to get your point across. So what? Did it ruin your day? It certainly didn't mine. I could care less what you think.

You certainly take the cake on this site as being the furthest left fruitcake there is. Congrats, you certainly earned it.

Have your "human rights" lawyer to call me. It'd make my day.
