Dang! Is it smart wading around in that water with crocs in it? Very exciting stuff!

Good video. Very good video of the Croc before the shot.

That must be in Simon's area. That area has always produced good Croc. Good Buff too. I really am fond of that concession.

Mike,

I consider my own croc hunt to be one of the top expereinces I've had in Africa. I think the Nile crocodile is a very underated trophy. Congrats on your very nice one.

The croc (and the hippo) was hunted out of the Chawalo Safari Camp near Zumbo, Mozambique (Southern Safaris). The camp is owned and run by Carel and Anita Maartins. They are great hosts. Also run alot of fishermen (tiger fish predominantly) through the camp.

Wading around in waist deep water with crocs around was bad enough, but walking/wading through the hippo trails in the papyrus was something else. That was something I will long remember and not soon want to repeat -- particularly picking off leeches.

If there is any place in Africa for MOA accuracy, it's on croc. Damn, I want to go back to Moz . . .

man, i can relate to croc hunting. i am picking up my croc rug (as well as the other stuff from my '08 Moz. hunt)this weekend in Palm Springs- work was done by Mary Hilliard Kruger(who posts here) and her husband Chris. pictures they sent last week of the almost finished stuff look GREAT. i agree with Mark. the 2 crocs i have shot were the hardest animals i have hunted in Africa. a MUCH underrated trophy. Mike, that is a fantastic video

Great shooting. I am surprised those birds (stone curlew / plover ?) did not spook and spoil the stock.
