http://animal.discovery.com/fi...monsters/nile-perch/ The show will repeat on the Animal Planet channel on Wednesday 8:00 p.m. (CDST). The Lake Chamo crocodiles are unbelievable in size. Too bad the hunting for them was closed. Great show. Kathi kathi@wildtravel.net 708-425-3552 "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

Frostbit, Yes, that is the link. He starts out fishing for Nile Perch in Uganda, then heads up to Ethiopia. While there he meets villagers who have been attacked by hippos and crocs while fishing. I saw the show. It is called River Monsters. It was very interesting. One of the guys that was attacked showed his scars. Trust me, you will remember it if you see it. They pulled up to some rock or island in Lake Chamo. They thing was covered in crocs. Really good sized ones, not massive but good sized ones. It also had some time on the superstitions if the Africans. This guy was supposedly going to be stoned to death because the chief's brother disappeared the day the fisherman showed up.

Speaking of the Nile Perch, they are absolutely fantastic table fare. Pan seared with a wedge of lime is my #3 favorite African meal. Yum! Will J. Parks, III

And speaking of big Nile Perch Here's a 57.5 kilo (that's 126 lbs) NilePerch I caught in 1980 in Lake Tanganyika on the Zambia side. We were wating a couple of days on a plane so we decided to do some fishing. It was in app. 400 feet deep and I was using a funny looking fish that reminded me of a sea trout for bait. In fact most of the fish in that lake reminded me of saltwater species. They even had one that looked like a sheephead. Rich Elliott Rich Elliott Ethiopian Rift Valley Safaris

Had a client whose croc was actually on that show. They blurred out his face, but it was him. Croc was over 18' in length with part of his tail missing. The guy on the show said they thought it may have been over 20' had the tail been intact. Small pic, but here is the croc: Greg Brownlee Neal and Brownlee, LLC Quality Worldwide Big Game Hunts Since 1975 918/299-3580 greg@NealAndBrownlee.com www.NealAndBrownlee.com Instagram: @NealAndBrownleeLLC Hunt reports: Botswana 2010 Alaska 2011 Bezoar Ibex, Turkey 2012 Mid Asian Ibex, Kyrgyzstan 2014

Yeah, We took several that would have hit the 20 foot mark if they had been intact. As it was..here's the 18 foot 7 inch croc that was the biggest we took that hadn't been cannabalized. Rich Elliott Rich Elliott Ethiopian Rift Valley Safaris
