A friend gave me a copy of the 1975 Weatherby catalog. Paging thru the "hero" pictures I couldn't believe whose picture I saw.

Okay, I will act like my daughter 10 years ago...guess, just guess.

Hint: a guy who used to post here but has all but stopped based on his contentious actions.

Ray would be my answer, but no, that is not correct. Not Allen Day or Will.

The suggestion of Will was a lame and shameless attempt to bait the man into responding. I now feel like a small pitiful excuse for a human being. I wish I could control my jealousy over his elephant hunting prowess.

The answer is Bill Phifer aka llamapacker. I didn't think he was that old, but he looks young in the photo.

He is holding a pair of ptarmigan that he shot with a Weatherby shotgun.

This is incredibly funny. Just goes to show you shouldn't believe what you read on the internet. I have never been featured in a Weatherby catalogue. Having not seen the catalog in question, I can't comment on the relative appearance of this gentlemen who obviously shares my name, but it is apparent he must be "a few" years older. I have noticed when perusing the SCI record books, that quite a number of entries share my name as well. Sorry to disappoint you AZ, but it is not me. I'm sure you won't believe me on this either, but that is your problem...

Strange that AZ would claim I had disappeared from these forums, or claim I have made contentious posts. If that isn't calling the kettle black.....

My biggest "sin" on these forums seems to be failure to air my side of the story, and play into the hands of the rabble rousers. Not interested. It seems AZ really does have some skin in this fight that he isn't willing to share. To the best of my knowledge, we haven't ever met, yet he seems to have some hang-up. Wierd. Has everyone else noticed that Dukxdog and SBT are really the ones who have dissapeared? Maybe you should be checking with Martin Peters for an update on the Nixon saga. You'll probably find it enligthening.

I've never posted a ton on this site, but a bunch of vitriol from uninformed posters hasn't changed my posting habits much. I've just learned to consider the source a bit more carefully.

Bill, I am convinced that you deliberately lied about your Traveler's Checks and I am clearly not alone.

I have no skin in the game, other than you just made life a lot more difficult for anyone who wants to pay with TCs or pay after the fact. I have never hunted in Zim, and currently have no plans to do so. My next hunt is back to Tanzania.

You are a piece a shit (hey, it wasn't me who gave you the moniker "fudgepacker"). So you may as well go away. You stink.

The only consolation for me is that Nixon will file suit in Zim and you will forever be afraid to return to Zim.

Was it worth it?

AZ,

You can be convinced that the world is flat, but it doesn't make it so. Apparently you were also convinced I was featured in a 1975 Weatherby catalogue. Let me know when you have spotted Elvis.

I am continuing to book my hunts and enjoy my travels around the world. I'll wait to return to Malipati until there is a new operator, hopefully in the near future. If a particular safari area is run by a crook, I am more than happy to avoid that area.

Get a life...

I wasn't convinced that is you in the catalog.

I think you best avoid Zim entirely. Who knows what kind of warrants are waiting for you? How can you be sure Nixon won't file suit?

So tell me, after you are exonerated are you going to have your trophies shipped back? After all, you paid for them...right?

Here is one thing for sure: you will never pull the trigger again in Africa without pre-paying your TFs. At least not by those PHs and booking agents that are on AR.

Tell me, how come when various members on AR spoke with you after your trip you never once mentioned your TCs were stolen?

What about the email re: the PC?

What about the mysterious AFR hunter from Salt Lake City? Where did he go?

You have lost the respect of a number of folks here on AR. As you said, I never met you. I have no dog in this fight. The only reason I think you are a liar is that you have not said anything that makes one bit of sense.

You claim to have paid your TFs, but you won't be getting your trophies. Why not?

You said your TCs were stolen but you never told anyone after the hunt. You never mentioned it once on AR, even though you posted the whinny "what would you do if you shot a dinky elephant?"

You state Nixon stole your TCs, countersigned your name, and then presented them for payment. Why would any operator do that? Why not just become a thief? Oh wait, you say Nixon is a thief. Funny, SBT had a hell of a hunt. Others have as well.

You sent an email to Nixon telling him you were going to bring him a laptop and some other gifts, then claim they were stolen.

AFR hunter comes to your defense; we find out he is from SLC as well. Be very interesting if AFR is the guy with the educational address.

You state you paid your bill but offer no proof. You didn't need to post your transfers; you could have posted your receipts; I have always been given a copy of mine, showing that I paid and/or what was owed.

So when a disinterested party stands back and looks at all of the data, is it any wonder why more than just me thinks you are a liar and a cheat?

It ain't just me Phifer. But go ahead, you want to dig a hole, I will help.
