Forgive my ignorance. I know they are very pricey but what is a realistic price for a rhino hunt today, and what is a reasonable expectation for horn size?

I didn't go up there to die, I went up there to live.

You can get a 20-24 for about 40-50k depending on who and where.

For each inch over 24, add one limb. Go over 30" and throw in your home.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Tman - If you do not know who or what OoA is, that is probably a good thing Wink. But now you will know. They are a Safari Company whose owners have been "accused" of Rhino poaching in RSA and possibly other Countries. That's all I'll say, but if you have additional questions you can go to the archives and pull up OoA and get tons of info. coffee

If you are truly interested in a Rhino hunt, a Green hunt, where you dart the Rhino as opposed to killing it might be an option? These go for around $8,000 I believe and are accepted in most record books if that interests you as well.

Where in Kansas are you from? I am a native from there, now in New Mexico.

FYI - Rhino green hunts are outlawed in RSA at the moment. If you are interested, look towards Namibia for darted hunts.

Larry, I am currently in school but I grew up south of Wichita, and do most of my hunting west of Medicine Lodge.
