FOsteologyElephant Tusk Reproduction ??
Seriously contemplating hunting a management elephant bull next year in Zimbabwe.
Ele will most likely either have one tusk, or a broken tusk, and/or small ivory (under 45lbs) and obviously non-exportable.
Even though I would be doing this for the "hunt" itself, it would be nice to have a tangible memento. Anyone that has ventured down this path, any recommendations/suggestions on taxidermists stateside to utilize for reproductions?
Appreciate the assistance.

L. David KeithThere are several companies making repro's for the taxidermy trade. Finish work is paramount to obtaining a quality looking set, otherwise you end up with something that looks plastic and cheap. Send me a message if you like and I'll forward you some information on getting a decent set.

It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

I did make quite a few until I couldn't do it anymore. I still have the molds, and will probably make a few once I heal up a bit. I won't attempt it until this fall or winter though.
