I regret any confusion this may caused and apologize for changing this in midstream. Anthony is a very deserving recipient.

Please continue to support this Benefit.

Thank You

Let us not lose focus on the above statement for this auction. I met Anthony Howland once and he seemed to a good young man. These proceeds will certainly help him after his devastating injury.

Thanks to Jeff, Saeed, CM Safaris, and others for putting this together. Also a big congratulations to the lucky high bidder, even though it could possibly be me.

Buzz, Jeff & Larry - Guys, correct me if I am wrong here, but it appears Buzz has offered the observer daily rates at 50% off ($125.00 per day x 7 days = $875.00)???

I would like to offer to pay the additional (remaining 50%) $875.00 for the observer rates, for the high bidder. It seems this would be an unforgettable hunt, and should be shared with a friend or family member.

Please advise if this is acceptable, and how I pay the money/to whom?

I don't Stu has a clue of the US tort liability process and insurance claims.

If his claim was actionable he would have a good tort lawyers working on a contingency basis.

I don't think there is a snowball chance in hell that any Tim Herald personal liability insurance is going to cover a business related tort in Moz.

I don't think Stu suing Tim and his insurance company is going to cause any mid-level insurance risk/settlement guy to write a check. It just went to litigation dept.

I doubt Stu had any valid personal insurance when he was hunting professionally in Moz.

A US lawyer will eat (bill) thru the money raised for Stu in under 6 months.

I really doubt there is any actionable tort or insurance action.

So Stu at the end of the day will lose want ever was raised on AR for his health and well being to get a bitter lesson in American Rules for private litigation. Legal bills are upfront and payable regardless of the outcome unless lawyer is working on contingency.

Maybe someone in zim hunting industry can explain that to him.

Regardless of recent events at least I saw some quality actions by people on AR to help out a person few personally knew. That counts for something to me regardless of if the person appreciates the help.

Merry xmas and a happy and prosperous new year to all.

Mike

If you donate money without any restrictions what is the difference on how he decides to use his money, for medical or financial help. I don't know Stu nor Tim but until a agreeable resolution is reached this will not be put to rest. Based on an impending lawsuit obviously Stu feels he hasn't been dealt with fairly or if he has he may be ensuring that it is binding.
My experience with wrongs nobody gets serious until a court gets involved, furthermore most suits the person being sued generally pays the wronged persons fees if he losses.
I wouldn't want to guess what would be reasonable compensation for what happened, I surely would not want to have been responsible but what if the tables where turned and Stu accidentally shot Tim, what would Tim do??
I say leave him do what he needs to do to insure his well being and take it as a lesson for everyone else.

On a further note Justin my main camerman has just called me- he follows AR alot but does not post. He asked me to post the following on his behalf :

"I would like to donate 7 days of my filming time ( so long as it does not conflict with already booked hunts) to this worthy cause!"

Thanks Jus- as many of you will know Justin is a top notch fellow and an awesome guy to have in camp and he has all the latest HD / blue ray equipment etc

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
