Had a good hunt with Savanah Safaris, used an old push feed Model 70 .300 win mag and Federal 200 grain TBBC to take

4 jackals
3 springbok - biggest 16 1/2
gemsbok 38 1/2
hartebeast
warthog
blue wildebeast
mountain Zebra
hyena

Kathi booked the flights for me via Frankfort.

Everything went great, PH, food, accomadation, vehicles and travel.

It was a fun time.

BigB,

Very nice trophies, I really like your springbok ram. Looks like you did a little predator hunting as well, I did some in RSA and it is a lot of fun.

Do you have any contact (website address) for these people you hunted with?

retreever,

Right now I am working on going back to Zim, I have not had any luck with a leopard and will focus on getting one. Of course maybe a buffalo also and plains game.

BigBullet,

www.fairchaseltd.com for Bill Williamson the booking agent. Not sure if Bryan Connock of Savanah Safaris has a web site. I do not think so.

BigB,

Congratulations on a successful hunt. That is a very, very nice gemsbuck and an excellent springbuck! I see in the gemsbuck photograph they had a good crop of nut-high grass this year.

Nice Gemsbok, and Springbuck! You're filling your trophy room, for sure, Byron! Are you going to hunt Leopard with Andrew Dawson, at Chifuti Safaris? He's the top Leopard man in Africa, IMO!

Mac,

I think I will be hunting with Gavin Rorke/Russ Broom Safaris. Gavin had a big leopard on the bait for me a couple of years ago which I blew by being noisy as I got into postion for the shot. Plus we have good luck with buffalo, our average is over 40".

Sounds good, especially the average over 40" buff! Good luck with the cat, I don't have a leopard either, but want one bad, and I think that will likely be my next safari, but you know me and Buffalo, so I'll probably take your 470 double with me, and pop a buffalo as well! Russ Broom is a good man to deal with, so you'll likely do well!
