Suggestion wanted.
Background: I have been on many different elephant hunts in several countries with many different double rifles. The years roll by and one last time coming up. The following are available to use and all have killed elephants for me: Rhodda .500 Nitro Extractor, John Wilkes .470 ejector with claw mounted scope available or a H & H Royal .500/450 extractor. All shoot very well and handle good. H &H is the lightest, the .500 the heaviest, with the .470 in between.
Which one would you take? All insured at full value.

Whichever gives you the most pleasure when you pick it up!

No question, the Royal. I'd like to go one last time with class and the Royal can't be beat!

The one that as you shoulder it and look down the sights has an elephant appear in the sight picture.

If you have killed so many elephant with all these rifles, why in the hell are you asking the forum? Surely you have a preference by now.

I like all three, getting old, just wanted to see what the public thought. Hell, I could take all three, but can't shoot all three at once!

I'd take the 500/450. Most sex appeal.

I am with Will and I would choose the 500/450...
It appeals to me like my 450#2 N.E. I would be your gun bearer if need be...

Yeh, too many people but got conned into tomorrow and Thursday. I'll probably be sleeping thru most of it in the hotel.

The Royal for me. Never shot one but have handled a few, shit they are pure class. Good luck,hope all goes well.

I would even be prepared to coat my self in dark boot polish to look like an authentic gun bearer for the photos.

depends on your eyes - if you're like me the iron sights are awfully blurry, then the scope gets the nod

Your problem is that you have too many doubles. Too many rifles will confuse a man.

I'd sell the Wilkes and the Rodda, use the proceeds for more elephant, and take the Holland & Holland.

This 500/450 went on my last elephant hunt. It's an ejector 'tho. Believe you should take its cousin.

I don’t give a poot about the pedigree, but I do love the 500/450NE cartridge. That’s the one I’d take for that reason!
