Just completed my first hunt with my new best friend who will only ever hunt with me and sorry for that Thierry Labat.

In addition to a host of species we took this incredible Sable now named the 'fence post bull'.

Our trophy exporter Mike Borman of Bangweulu Taxidermy has never seen anything quite like it.

A trophy equal to Thor's mammoth Chobe Bushbuck taken recently in Munyamadzi.

Well done Zambia

Congratulations to hunter and outfitter!

Now already looking forward to the artwork of the mounting!

Please save all the guessing - which is easy enough with a good sized trophy, but with this monster .... - and give the length and base circumference!

Again, well done the two of you! clap

Brad was not interested in inches however the bases we roughly measured with a piece of string at 11 plus inches. The length is irrelevant and that measurement belongs to Brad.

He turned down 3 big Sitatunga bulls looking for that Monster. Which we found but that is his story and no doubt it will be told at a later date.

The Sable does not compare to some of the other trophies. Two of which are the biggest I have ever seen/taken.

One lone 44 inch bull that Brad turned down because he after much careful observation deemed the animal not fully mature.

The circumference is close at 11", unfortunately, Andrews tape (AKA framing square) only went to 23", it looked like his right horn would go just over 40", his left was broomed off quite heavily (maybe -1"-1-1/2"). But, as I am sure all of your wives/girlfriends have told you, it is not the length that is important, it is the girth. Wink Never the less an exceptional trophy, and something to behold when he was walking through the trees with what looked like 2 - 6" fence posts sticking out of his head. Thanks to Andrew for a great adventure and to all of you for your kind words.

Great bull Andrew. Personally, and no kidding at all, my guy shoots a bull like that and gives the sour puss, too cool for school look, i'm not snapping a pic until some sort of smile appears. Never a good look. But a hell of a bull!
