Hey Scott,
Thanks for the well wishes! Ironing out a few more details for the travel portion of the trip but other than that, I have packed, repacked, shot and reshot my rifles and are good to go! I'll do my best to shoot a big buff and hippo for plenty of bait for you and John to hunt cats off of! Look forward to seeing you again on September 1!

Good Hunting,
Russell

Best of luck, bwana.

From all I've heard, Johnny Du Plooy is one of the best professional hunters in Zambia.

Good luck Russell, hopefully you'll find a monster buffalo. I want to hear your take on Zambia when you get home.
Travel safely.

Thanks everyone... this should be a blast! 10 days to chase buffalo, hippo and croc and a smattering of plains game in one of the classic safari destination locales. Good fun! And thanks to Mark and Adam Clements Safari Trackers. It's been awhile since I went through an agent and I forgot how easy they make it! Special thanks to Jamie Cowan in their offices for handling the logistics on four very different personalities... and always with a smile.

Oh, and Scott and John, first round of sundowners around the campfire is on me...

Good Luck my Friend,
Question. Is JohnE going to be wearing those Lucky bright green sox again on this trip? If he does I'll bet you all get a big buff.

Thanks, Ern... gentlemen, wish you all could make the trip...what fun that would be! As it is we are packed, the suburban is loaded and we will be off in a couple of hours. Battery as loaded consists of 1 Merkel .470, 2 .375 H&H's, 1 .300 Weatherby and 1 .300 Winchester. Those Cape buff and assorted other critters better start saying their "Hail Marys", bloodthirsty Texans are headed to the Luangwa!
