A great old, battle-scarred Leopard.

I shot a red duiker- the first that Alan had shot in this concession.

An old male with a broken horn.

Roy shot a warthog and a wildebeest.

Someone asked about Walter's exploits.

He is having a bit of a time loosing things.

On the plane he misplaced his passport, which resulted in panic stations.

Maktoum found it in one of Walter's back pack pockets - I think it has about 999 pockets!

Then at Dar he lost his wallet.

Same results with panic and someone coming to his rescue.

Then at camp e lost his iphone!
He conveniently put it in my camera bag, and forgot about it.

Roy shot two buffalo this morning, after a long tracking exercise.

2 shots, two buffalo, 375/404.

Real world hunting, not some claim from a famous bullshit artist of needing a 577 and 600 for the buffalo to decide how to die

Brilliant photos again. That .375/.404 literally punches through those buffaloes!

For those who asked for photos of the petrified trees, here are some photos.

I am sorry the photo quality is not that good, but we ad a cloudy day all day.

As you can see, I shot a croc, and we decided to return back to camp, as it is BBQ night tonight.

Yesterday both Roy and Makoum shot a kongoni each.

In fact, even the hyenas take a few days to eat them.

Yes.

I prefer the zoom.
It makes a lot of difference.
We have both, but the zoom is better for our purpose.

Walter starts hunting today, and no one is sure what is going to happen.

Strategies were being planned at the dinner table last night - and non involves hunting,despite the fact Walter is the subject of discussion.

Both Roy and myself got two buffalo at the same time, with a round each.

Walter is being asked to do the same.

He is complaining that Pete is not capable of putting him in a position to shoot two buffalo at the same time.

We all agreed with him, as in my case we saw the buffalo, then just got in front of them, and shot two as they passed.

The fact that we had to run a 15 kilometers an hour for a long distance was not mentioned - and something Walter does not want to hear.

A wheelbarrow is being prepared, as he heard that Iodine Ionides had his people push him in a wheel barrow when he was looking for snakes to add to his collection!

I can just imagine how far they will get here with that form of transport

Say what you want about Walter, that duiker looks delicious!

Walter shot an impala today.

I shot a wildebeest and a hippo.

That croc looks very big and the BBQ looks yum.

We get the usual fight between crocs and hyenas at night on the bones we tie up for them across our camp by the river.

We seem to have an extraordinary number of spiders in the concession this year - never seen anything like it before.

I had to kill y 5th scorpion my ten last night - I have no idea why, but every year I get a few in my tent.

Non are ever found in other tents!!

Had buffalo tail and buffalo stew for dinner last night.

Walter put on that meat were ticks. Had to look closer to make sure. Fine chow it looks like.

The photography is as impressive as your shooting. Wonderful!

We drove early to Luhea - right at the other end of our concession.

We found some zebra, chased them, but were not able to get a shot.

We found some sable, same results, due to the bush.

Then we found a warthog, and shot him.

We went to find a place to have lunch, and as we stopped our truck, someone spotted a lioness lying 50 meters away in the grass!!

We watched her, and she watched us for a while, then she just slinked away.

We sent our driver to the villege, as we were close, to buy salt.

Had our lunch, and found some fresh buffalo tracks and followed them.

I shot one bull.

We gutted him and cut him in half, waiting for our truck to arrive.

Just before sun down, we could hear them cutting a road to us.

Alan and me left Roy by the buffalo, and went to meet them.

We left our rifles with Roy.

A few hundred yards, we heard, then saw, a herd of buffalo coming straight to us - 50 yards away!

WE took off to the closest tree, and the buffalo changed direction as soon as they saw us!

Arrived back to camp just before ten.

I love the pics of the three-rock cooking. What exactly did they put in the pot??

That hippo with the missing tusk must have had a few battles. Was he a solitary male when you shot him? I doubt he would have challenged any other bulls without one tusk.

The hippo was on his own, the rest of them were in another pool a few hundred yards away.

The meat they were cooking was taken from a wildebeest we just shot.

It was liver and some back leg meat.

Alan was BBQing meat and kidneys from the same animal.

Those were not rocks, but abandoned termite hills.
