How about doing the same thing David started, but with lions. Here are a couple:

10 week old cub

Part of the 30+ lion pride eating a 2 yr old elephant they killed the night before

I think you've all seen this one before. Stalking lion.

Kenya lion with dew in his mane. He's been eating a baby hippo.

Tough old lion (7+ years old) watching a couple of buffalo.

10 week old cubs on a buffalo kill

Sub-adult lion roaring. I mean yawning. Cool

Some good pictures from our hunting areas in Tanzania. All of these pictures are in our hunting areas and not in any park. Some of the pictures were from a blind.

The following pictures were taken in Addo park. I spent way too long watching this display and wondering what was in it for the girl. It was one quick, decisive strike after another, and each time, it seemed like by the time she realized what was going on, it was over.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I'll contribute. We bumped into this big boy last July on my buffalo hunt in the Okavango near Khwai. Just passing the time surveying his domain....

Mike,

I wondered if you were lusting after this thread Smiler ....I posted it on purpose to get your blood boiling, he was a a handsome male.

A few of the photos could be printed out as targets for short range, say 25 yards, practice with the 22 RF...though the as you get close to the hunt I'm sure the double will be getting a workout.

Brandon, Cindy and I leave for Namibia on 18 May.

Paul

Love those pictures at the Cheetah project. We were there last year and I have a great picture of my son holding a lion cub very much like the one the young lady is holding ( same pot belly).

We hunted Blaauwkrantz, my second time with Philip Dixie as PH. Pamela found 'spekboom' at Lowe's and we put two of them in the front flowerbed.
