Ad was well done but no group, and I mean NO group, is going to pay 5 million for a 30 second ad to make a politicial point.
I've never watched a Super Bowl (or any football for that matter) so I will be interested to hear your comments.

Several places are reporting that the ad is appearing during the Super Bowl. Outdoor Life for example.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

That is the one concept the majority of folks that donate to HSUS simply Do Not comprehend. HSUS provides absolutely NO Financial support to any ANIMAL SHELTER, Nation Wide.

Local animal shelters are supported by the cities/counties and residents of those areas where the shelters are located.

The ad was produced by Humanewatch.org. According to their website, the ad will air during the Super Bowl. However, it will only air in certain parts of the country.

They also indicate that it has been viewed in excess of 3 million times already.

They provide some support but very little. Less than 1% of their budget goes to shelters.

All of the shelters Lora and I have experience with here in north Texas get 0% support from HSUS.

It may be different in some parts of the country, I do not know. I just know what I have been told at these shelters.

I would bet a dollar that Humanewatch.org must pay for its commercials wherever they are aired, while HSUS's commercials are run at no cost by local stations across America as "public service announcements" (make that read "free").

Not only is its airtime provided, I would suspect that the cost of producing HSUS commercials (no small amount) also are done pro bono by the Ad Council or some similar organization.

Incidentally, Cal, I also have never sat all the way through a televised football game or any other "sport" involving running, jumping or throwing.

They have 500 employees and a revenue of 135 million. And are run by a rabid anti-animal-use-in-any-form freak. Not hard to figure out who is the beneficiary of all those donations.

I was on a plane. Just got home. All I can tell you is that the Humane Watch website said it would play in selected markets. It didn't specify which markets. If one thinks about it, it makes more sense to play it in the liberal markets.

I wish it would have played here in place of our most infamous personal injury lawyer's spot who's ego is bigger than Texas!

I tried posting the link on another hunting forum, to hopefully get it more play and passed on, but it was immediately taken down; I'm sure it was reported by an attorney that posts frequently over there. 'Made me appreciate the moderators over here!
