What would be a good PG bullet for a 375 H&H, in a Ruger No. 1? Also, in case I bump something mean, what would be a good DG bullet?

Are suitable cartridges available commercially, or do I have to have some loaded.

You cant go wrong with either a 300 grain Barnes solid for the dangerous stuff or 300 grain X bullet sor general plains game.

I have had great sucess with R 15.

GOOD LUCK

North Fork and GS Custom both make excellent bullets but aren't available as loaded factory ammo to my knowledge. If you are willing to reload or get custom ammo then they would be my pick with some flat point solids (both companies make solids) just in case you meet something nasty.

If you want something available in factory ammo I would go with Federal ammo loaded with Trophy Bonded Bear Claw, Barnes, or Nosler for the PG and some Sledgehammer Solids for DG.

I was impressed with the way Remington 300 gr A-frames performed on buff, leopard, and plains game. Big and small, close and far. Just for spice, here's some picts from last month's hunt. These critters, and others, were taken with 375 A-frames--Factory loads(the bullets mentioned above have proven themselves, too)
That's PH Dean Kendell and crew in picts.

A 300 grain Barnes X bullet will do a lot of damage to anything that walks the earth with the possible exception of elephant. Use that and get on with the experience.

Aglifter, Can apeak with experience the 300gr. TSX will take out a buf with a brain shot and break any bones upon impact... On plains game you will dive the bullet from stem to stern...
Maximum tissue destruction....

For plains game I like the 270 North Fork. It will expand on the small stuff and penetrate on the bigger game. The plus is it will load to 2750 and shoot flat enough for 300 yards plus just like the .30-06.
