Hunters might be, however, my guess is they lose not only the hunter but the hunters whole family. Not just the hunting line but everything too.

It sounds good.....but I suspect Adidas and Nike have a little something to do with it....

I am pretty sure neither of these titans have extensive, if any, hunting product lines?

Perhpas UA will [re]focus on the hunting and outdoor market, who will [re]embrace them, instead of holding grudges. Or, they will abandon this market and hunters will have less good options.

Who cares about UA
There is tons of options and also there is tons of goodwill stores with good old stuff
Our forefathers were hunting in simple wool and cotton and they did just fine so buck up boys

UA sales have been going thru the roof for the past few years. Only natural for them to flatten out after awhile. How much hunting had to do with this is unknown.

Target sells UnderArmor - like clothing at a fraction of the UA price.
That kind of competition may also have taken enough business to cause the UA stock to falter.

I saw their stock drop this week based on their miss on sales etc.
I wonder how much revenue they got from Hunting lines ( and like you said above..how much did pissing off Hunters effect non hunting lines)?

I wrote the Board a letter. I told them I was throwing out all my UA things which was considerable. I have absolutely avoided buying UA things since then no matter how much I liked them , no matter what the price was .

I would like to think if enough of us did this, it would make a difference.

Maybe this impacted under armor

https://www.change.org/p/pleas...lood-of-the-innocent

But the reality is under armor sales grew 12 percent in 2016 - the guidance is 10 percent plus in 2017.

Stock sucked cause expectation was higher and earnings growth was less than expectations.

i think guns america wants to think the sportsman is the cause for UA not doing as well but I think in reality Bwana1 & a few others have the real cause:

every rapid growth plateaus, there are more companies with similar products, UA hasn't really brought anything "new" to the sales rack to get current customers to upgrade

I agree with you and Mike. I call this the Apple syndrome. Year end and year out, Apple makes money by the ton. If they don't exceed street expectations, the stock drops, in spite of making all this cash. UA stock dropped but I seriously doubt it had diddly to do with hunter protests.

I call it disappointing discounted cash flow.

With the latest flap over some basketball player getting offended because of a positive Trump comment by a big wig at UA & then them walking it back. I think I'll not buy anymore UA myself.

Ron Baron, who runs an investment firm, was on CNBC's Squawk Box talking about Under Armor. He discussed a lot of their problems, but offended hunters was not one of them.

Maybe all the cash they are having to fork over to Jordan is draining the resources a bit? This kid is making some serious money from them. I like my UA stuff so not planning on torching it just yet.

I can't wear under armour, it makes me sweat. maybe because I wear it outside then don't get naked in the tent..If your out all day its pretty good, but I'll just stick with soft wool, the stuff that doesn't itch and keeps you warm enough when soaked with snow..

Not to mention under armour stinks after days of use and merino wool does not.
