Hey Guys,

I have had a great deal offered to me for a 2 buff hunt in Kogosi next year with Game Trackers Africa -ONDJAMBA SAFARIS. A friend at Remington hunted buff with them and had a great trip.

1st - What does everyone think of the safari company?

2nd - When I look for flights to Mwanza - they all are like $6000-8000 Has anyone flown there? What airlines go in there, etc. I was hoping to fly KLM so I could use skymiles and go biz class. Is Mwanza it if you are hunting Kogosi?

3rd - Is that a good area for quality buff?

As always, I appreciate the info you all share...TH

BTW...if anyone is interested in a 4x12x52 Khales multizero scope - I have one that is mint for sale at a great price. Sorry for the shameless plug...

Good Hunting,

Tim, I am headed for Kigosi in 4 weeks. I booked thru Wendell at Huntersquest .com. He lists the current round-trip Dar-Mwanza as about $320, plus charter from Mwanza to Kigosi as about $1900. If you search this site for "kigosi" or visit Wendell's site, you will find some good info and picts.

Tim,
1- I've "heard" good and bad of the company. Mostly good though... They lease their hunts in Kigosi.
2- Mwanza is only a "regional" airport so you can fly KLM into Dar or Kilimanjaro and then fly scheduled to Mwanza which is a few 100 dollars.
3- "Quality" is a broad term. There are good populations of buffalo in kigosi but on a 10 day hunt i would not necessarily pass up a 38 incher if he had hard bosses. That is just my opinion.

Happy hunting!

You'll probably have to buy your ticket DAR-MWANZA-DAR in cash at DAR airport...... they don't take cards or T/Cs.

There's not much in Mwanza and the only hotel worth considering is the Tilapia. - and if you're feeling kind and have spare baggage space the Bugando Hospital in Mwanza is usually in direst possible need or ANY kind of medical supplies etc.
