Hope this helps. This is an Eastern Cape Bushbuck that I shot last Monday. It is quite light in color compared to some of the others that have a very dark choclate color but does give a decent view of the nose and ears.

Here is a picture of my Chobe Bushbuck that I took last June in Zimbabwe.

And here is the same Bushbuck after mounting. The taxidermist took this picture to use in their new brochure, and sent me a copy.

darkside; Not only do Bushbuck vary in body color, but most all have a 3 toned interior ear color. Most will have a light lemon base color with flesh and peach overtones. Similar to the Nyala. I've just begun taking close up pics of these details. I took another Cape Bushbuck two weeks ago but haven't processed my pics yet. If I get a better close up I'll PM it to you. Good hunting, LDK
PS: That is a nice Bushbuck you took Brad

Some beautiful animals folks. Bwana, yours looks a lot like mine, yet mine is supposedly a Limpopo. Opinions from the peanut gallery ladies and gents? jorge

Jorge,
Your's seems to have a longer mane down the backbone, and the hair altogether seems longer than the hair on mine. Don't know if that's a trait of the Limpopo as opposed to the Chobe, or just the time of year it was shot.

Does anyone know whether these various subspecies can and will interbreed? I'm assuming they can.
