Tomorrow I leave for a 10day safari in RSA with Adansonia Safaris.

My wife bought the trip for me at an SCI Lowcountry auction.

Since I was forced to be medically retired in between her getting the trip and now. It looked like I might not be going. But it now appears I was meant to go.

Besides being my very first time to Africa this trip is obviously special.

"...it now appears I was meant to go..."

You may be very correct! Go, have no expectations and enjoy every experience for it's own value. You will be a rich man for it! And by all means take photos of EVERYTHING. Years from now it will be those seemingly insignificant sights (at the time) that will be the most welcome memories when you pull the photos out. cheers

Two weeks ago my camera died. It's under warranty and Canon is repairing it. No way it's making it back in time.

So the credit card comes out and a new camera goes with me. Almost 3gb of cards. I plan on taking plenty of picts Smiler

Go and have a wonderful time. Like they said...take a zillion photos and keep a good daily diary. Both will be worth a fortune to you years later.
Hell...if you are gonna die...you can die over there having a great time just as well as you can die here with some doc getting all your money! Get back up in the fast lane and have a wonderful time.
BETTER TOMORROWS!

You can borrow money but you can not borrow time. Go hunting with your family.

Nothing is quite so special as hunting Africa. Enjoy yourself and good luck.

Big guy...
I whish you all the best and a safe journey.
Myself I was fighting cancer last year, and my first trip to Africa was in the blue for a while.
But I won and I went and I will be back again thumb

Enjoy every little detail from the sandgrouse and francolines and the magnificent blue starling, to the aboundance of wildlife in this all so different country
