Charlie64Who booked what ?
.
I always enjoy(ed) after your US shows when everyone posted what they had booked. Seems to have slipped thru the cracks this year....
Me, I have booked a RSA plains hunt in June with 9 good friends in the Karoo, a buff hunt and an aoudad plus a couple of roe deer hunts in Eastern Germany and Hungary and the UK for muntjac and CWD end February with a hunting friend. Plus a bit of fly fishing in the UK Lakes in May June.
Should keep me out of trouble!

Brandon.GleasonMy lioness hunt in the Save for August fell through, so pivoted last week and firmed up plans for a group hunt (hippo/croc/buff) to Zambia this fall with the Du Plooys. It was a pleasure to meet Johnny and his wife. A big thanks to Arjun Reddy for finding a suitable, same-year hunt for 3 hunters in less than a weeks time.
Started to dabble mildly in options for a leopard in 2027.
Did quite a bit of canvassing for our Chapter banquet auction.
Spent a little more time outside the convention this year with my wife and kids.

DLSI’ve already got hunts booked this year in Zim, Buffalo with Alan Vincent and Zambia, Sitatunga with Johnny DuPlooy
And next year to Congo with Christophe Morio, then Mozambique C9 & C14 with Doug Duckworth.
So, the last thing I needed was another hunt, but I had a good visit at Arjun’s booth about a ‘27 water buffalo hunt in Northern Territory. I also decided on having Parkwest build me a Model 10 in 7x57, using a 40 year old blank I’ve been sitting on.
…and I told Alan Vincent to block me dates for another 16-day hunt for my son & I on Madaba in ‘28.
It was a great Nashville SCI convention this year. I’ll be staying more days next year.

Bama15Booked Uganda for Sept. my wife will be going along. Looking hard at duck and dove in Argentina next year

What GMA are they hunting for Sitatunga now? I hunted Tondwa with the DuPlooy's, and absolutely loved the place.

Yes, Tondwa. Johnny believes it’s the single best place in Zambia for a big Sitatunga. A 32”er was shot there last fall, I think in October. I’m only hunting a Sitatunga, none of the other game that’s in Tondwa. Assuming we get a Sitatunga and have time, we’re going to run over to Lake Tanganyika and go fishing.

I agree with him. I hunted Sitatunga, Puku, Livingstone Eland and Blue uDiker there.
We drove to Lake Tanganyika as well. There was a resort there that was abandoned and in sad shape.
I chartered from there to the Luangwa for Lion, Leopard etc. with Alister Norton. My best and longest safari(s) to date.

Good for you, my friend.
I am also cherry-picking these days.
It is a luxury born of a hell of a lot of successful full bag hunting.

Absolutely right and nowadays you can fly domestic into Kasama and it is a 5 hour vehicle transfer into the hunting area. You will have plenty of time for fishing!

My first trip to Tondwa with Terry was a death march. We drove to Kasama (?)overnighted then took on Mporakosa rd. I'm sure you remember the nightmare that road was back in 2005. 250 miles of dirt, mud, potholes.
I went back in 2009 or 10 for Sable and Hartebeest. The road had marked improvements.

Steve it is all good now and there is substantial investment in the region and Tondwa is 100% on Sitatunga. A good average on a solid mature bull would be 25 inches upwards. I took one of the largest Sitatunga last year but not here.

DLSAndrew, I’m not going to Tondwa to shoot a 25” Sitatunga. I passed up a 40 yard shot on dry ground on a 25”bull when I hunted with Richard in 2018. You knew the bull we were hunting, and how large it was. I never considered the bull that trotted right past us. If it hadn’t been for a run-in with 2 poachers on my final morning, I’d have likely killed that bull as Tom & the game scout watched it walk across that wide dambo on Richard’s side, just upstream of your camp. They were pleading with us to hurry there to shoot it, but I’d sprained my knee and tore my rotator cuff when I stepped into a hole while trying to run down poacher #2, while Richard was on top of poacher #1. I could barely walk or lift my right arm and the Sitatunga of my dreams disappeared into the forest.
This hunt is 10 days for one animal. We’ll be looking for something that starts with a 3, or damn close to it. …and I won’t be chasing any poachers!

Neil ABooked Alaska Moose/Brown Bear combo for September of 26 and likely book Tanzania with Alan Vincent August of 27. DLS sorry you have to suffer through Doug in Moz...he's the best. Although the other Neil would disagree.

Plenty of Sitatunga on that place. I was there 8years ago and shot mine the first day. They were everywhere and it was literally impossible to be successful in a day or two.
