The buffalo measured 49 6/8 spread (14+ bosses) and a total SCI score of 134 even. This was after boiling but before the required waiting period of 60 days making it the 4th highest scoring buffalo from Tanzania recorded in the record book Eeker

This picture shows it next to a 43 and 44 inch buff taken on the same safari.

Lion 1: He was seen by the camp manager busy confronting another male.

Lion 2: Seen in the neighbouring concession by the camp manager.

The 2 lions were subsequentlty taken by clients several weeks after the pics were taken.

Most definitely! My guess would be Maswa or maybe Monduli with TGT since there is a picture of Doug McNiel who guides for TGT.

Amazing bull buffalo! Thanks for posting these terrific photos.

How anyone could think that big bull is too young is beyond me. Hard bosses and heavy, swept, worn-smooth and broomed horns like those are not found on youngsters.

I don't hold myself out as an expert on buffalo, but that bull is way past old enough and has doubtless passed his wonderful genes on to many a calf.

Congrats to Doug McNeil and the hunter!

Now that was funny, Steve!

That buff is unbelievable!!! A "once in several lifetimes" trophy... wow.
