speaking of hunting in Zim I talked with Dudley Rogers of Tshabezi Safaris this morning, their afternoon and the hunting has so far been going fine. They did have a cancellation so they will have some elephant and some other stuff available around the first of Oct. I am planing a trip on the 5 or 6th of Oct. This will be my 4th trip with them. Dudley and Tess , his wife have run this family owned operation for the last 20 years or so. Great folks. If you are interested in a late season hunt give them a ring.

Thought I'd as a picture or two of hunts I have had with them over the last couple of years

bull taken late 2005

first buffalo with Clinton Rodgers 2006

Glassing for Elephant and buffalo

PAC bull taken in some incredibly thick brush in 06 This kind of hunting is the tops for adrenaline junkies. This was a spur of the moment type hunt when word came down that the local counsel wanted an Elephant shot that day so we had to take the first opportunity that presented it's self. That put us crawling around in some ridiculously thick brush. I got all the excitement that I wanted on that hunt.

Happy Zebra hunter. I love hunting those things. dancing

That's a very good ele. I like the others, too. It looks like a good idea to get in as many African hunts as possible --before Gov't greed takes over everywhere.

Looks like some great memories and sounds like you found a good company to hunt with.

I am sad to say that Kirk Left for Australia right after my last hunt last year. An amazing hunter he is. I was lucky enough to hunt with him and enjoy his company. I don't know if he could do it on a spur of the moment but he said he would like to come back to guide on a part time basis. He only left because he wanted a more stable place for his wife and child. Kirk is the real deal. He loved to hunt. I think that if it was just him I think he would have given up his house in town and just moved to the bush permanently until this silliness smooths out.

On the other hand if you talk to Dudley they might talk him into coming back to guide you. I know I would love to see him again. Just listening to him tell his story in that dry understated way about the time the cow ele tried to run her tusk through him and tore his shirt, "and a brand new shirt it was",and cropping belt off is worth the cost of admission.

els,

My wife and I also hunted with Kirk Mason last July. An excellent hunter and true gentleman. He is a true "man of the bush." His knowledge of elephants and hunting them was incredible. One of the best PH's we haver ever hunted with. We took a couple of elephant with him and he guided my wife to her first African animal, a big warthog. I received an E-mail from him two weeks ago and he stated that he really misses his elephants. I hope that he does come back to hunt. We would definitely like to hunt with a man of this caliber again.
