I have been asked for "proof of ownership" in order to get a gun permit for entry into Zambia. What do you use if you in the US and do not have any sort of liscence or proof of ownership?

You go to customs with your gun(s) and fill out a 4457 form, they will stamp it and sign it.

This proves nothing but in Africa, a piece of paper gets more respect than it deserves/

Ross,
I used the 4457 when I hunted there in '06...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

The 4457 form as others have suggested. In years passed, we have had clients give a copy of a hunting license as well so it shows they have hunted. For whatever reason some of our outfitters ask for that.
