What happened to the show? Am I the only one who thinks DSC now understands that it was Craig Boddington that made the show work?

Plug & Play does not always work.

Snowed in Rich? I think the show is much better today than it ever was before. Ivan is far more dynamic and energetic and I actually enjoy seeing other people hunt not just Craig, his daughter and his friends. If you want to watch Boddington, watch the Boddington Experience (which is not bad either). Fact is for viewers, the split simply meant that we got another series to watch and TAA had a breath of fresh air breathed into it.

It's still on and still providing a good show without Craig and Craig's a friend. I really enjoy watching regular clients hunt and Ivan does a great job of hosting it as well.

This week's show was very good, a very nice and pretty young lady took a baboon, leopard and a buffalo. She was a good shot and FAST with the reload!

It's DVR'd in my home. I still enjoy it and get to see other people hunt with the PH's instead of CB all the time. Nothing against Craig but it was and still is a good show. I also watch the Boddington experience and enjoy it as well, he just doesn't go on as many African hunts.

TAA used to air on The Outdoor Network on Direct TV every Wednesday at 4:30 CDT. It is no longer aired then, I can catch it on Sunday on the same channel and time. Does anyone know if it is aired any other time during the week now. The Wednesday time is now "Elite something or another, Tactical arms which seems bad timing right now to me,,,,

It's the one show I watch every week!

But Rich, this isn't the first time you've gone down this road with TAA. What's with this man crush you have on CB anyway? Whistling

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

TAA is much better now with Ivan. Ivan shows some passion about the show, hunting and conservation. Something I think Craig lacked a little on. I still have great respect for Craig, but Ivan is the man for TAA.

What really tickles me is all these women hunting in all extremes with ten layers of makeup on. Lee and Tiffany; GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! Tiffany looks like she took makeup lessons from Tammy Fay Baker. Eeker One show of hers was enough!!!
The real hunting professionals on TV programming are respectful of the quarry and demonstrate a sort of reverence upon approaching them.
Shockey looks like a hard hunter and on many hunts appears like he has been in the "sticks" for a while. He seems like the real deal. A fair chase advocate.

Totally agree. I get tired of watching the same old guys pull the trigger all the time. I used to watch Shockey's show, but I gave up on it. Tired of seeing him shoot over and over, or those goofy shows with his dad. I don't ever care to see Boddington shoot another buff, Shockey shoot another moose, Makris shoot another ele, etc. I like to see real hunters paying real money, and not the same faces every week.

On the other hand, I do enjoy CBs writing - his books more so than articles, the difference being in his books you gain from his experience. And he is a good campfire storyteller as well. In the articles, he is constrained by those footing the bill. Hey, at least he isn't shooting a TC!!

I like who I am, wouldn't change a thing.

That said, if I could be as well versed and entertaining and capable a BG hunter as Craig has been...

I'd be okay with that small change.

To me, TAA was Craig's show.

Ivan is good, but remember any show when they replace the lead character?

Don't watch TAA much anymore. Not because of Craig or Ivan, they are both top notch. It's the Shane Mahoney guy that turns it off for me. If I am watching and he comes on, immediate channel change, and usually don't switch back. Will most likely not renew my Sports Afield subscription at SCI this year as he has a column in it as well. Sorry this dude creeps me out bigtime!!

The lead character never was CB and it isn't Ivan today - it is "normal" hunters like us, and that is what makes the show great.

And to think we complained when a fat guy was on...sheesh.

eezridr: don't forget, ISS claimed to have shot 25 elk scoring 350 or better. The only better lie in the history of AR was Llamapacker accusing Nixon of stealing his traveler's checks and then presenting them for payment.

If I remember correctly none of those racks could be shown because they had all been sold.... Maybe Nixon used the ill gotten proceeds to purchase all the racks.

Well I like both guys
I like the show
What else compares on the air to the great African hunts their TAA shows.
Surely not those guys now taking animals at 17000 yards and are proud of it and say this is a great African experience.
Just tired of seeing these long range shooters in Africa. They can shoot across the borders of 3 countries.
Oh well

Thanks for the many nice responses men. We stayed away from this, as we are just a bit biased. Nice to have guys that"know Africa through experience"have our back! We have made a change as far as Shane Mahoney on both Tracks and our Sports Afield series. Aaron Neilson has taken over as host on Sports Afield, and Ivan will handle the conservation messages on Tracks. I will say this, that change was based on branding our hosts, nothing more. Shane is one of the nicest guys, straight talkers, and professional men it has ever been my pleasure to know. He did every thing we ever asked in a professional manner, on time, and with a flawless delivery. We simply made a decision to put more air time into our show hosts, simple as that.
Tracks is, in my opinion, in better shape than in any point in our history. The right people are in place, top to bottom. For all who agree, our deepest Thanks for your continued support. It really means a lot guys!

I have my DVR set to record TAA and I watch it faithfully.I miss CB as he was a great host and I thought he and Ivan made a good team.

However,I enjoy the new shows just as well and I got a lot of enjoyment out of the two recent episodes that featured the young lady and her father hunting together.

Nothing better than sharing the outdoors with a youngster and theses shows captured the experience very well.

Someone can say the right things in the right manner but present a negative image due to circumstances completely beyond their control. Things as subtle as how symmetrical a face is or the natural tone of one's voice can put off viewers no matter how supportive they may be of the message given. Recognizing what does or doesn't work and making adjustments is a sign of good production values, something both programs have in spades.

I thought Shane was very articulate and has a voice made for television and radio. Best of luck to him in the future.

In contrast, I have been accused of having a face made for radio!

And as to Tracks. Well, I rarely, if ever miss an episode.

Dave: I have to echo that about Shane. My friend Todd and I were introduced to him a few years ago at the convention whilst we were still in uniform and since then HE comes to us and says hello during the evening dinners.

As to the show, I don't miss a one. jorge

Dave,
TAA was the first show I put on the new DVR 7 years ago, and though the DVR has changed, the programming hasn't. TAA was the reason I stopped by the Chifuti booth 3 years ago, which led to last year's safari with them, and the subsequent filming by your crew. A great job by all. Young Kelsey was in camp while my wife and I were there, and she really is as sweet and nice as the show portrayed her--and one hell of a shot as well!
Our best regards,
Tim and Vicki

I enjoyed the show when Craig was the host and I enjoy it now that Ivan is the host. I would have a hard time saying which is the better show so I won't. It does seem that some of the tuskless hunts are getting a little repetitive. I hope it doesn't get to the point of us saying "Well if you have seen one tuskless hunt on TAA, you have seen them all." I suggest finding a way to make them more interesting and less predictable. I think that is the challenge for production of all the depicted hunts.
