Carlos Alberto MaciasTo Bill, Lorenzo and Steve: I apologize for the delay but I returned from La Pampa one hour ago. I went to scout the stag´s migration, which this year seems to happen earlier than ever and looking after the "jabalies" (almost pure Russian boars, not to be mixed with feral domestic hogs).

I´ll answer later.

Carlos Alberto MaciasFriends, I apologize for answering so late but was very busy with a hunting party and the areas in Santa Fe and Rio Negro Provinces´ which we visited had 1.000 kilometers between them. I´ll try it in order:
To Steve:
Yes, there are water buffaloes there, but not the biggest due to bad food, there are better ones in other zones of La Pampa.
This is one of the two areas where you may find the best "jabali" trophies. If you use Google Earth look for Algarrobo del Aguila, La Pampa, Argentina and should appear a quite crude view. Nevertheless the Atuel´s river course is shown and its joining the Chadileuvu, at 36º 29´10.07" S/67º 02´21.23" O.
The other zone of big hogs is the opposite end of La Pampa in the border with Rio Negro. Again, in Google Earth look for La Adela, La Pampa, Argentina and there appears a good view of the little town of La Adela and in the other side the much bigger city of Rio Colorado. In both sides of the river there are excellent huntable areas.
Of course you may hunt from blinds during the nights with the help of moonlight, but the most succesful way and the more sought after by customers is using dogs and knives or handguns. Take it for granted that with dogs and knives you´ll feel adrenaline running trough your system and that´s an extraordinary experience, your heart will beat like a drum.
These are wild areas and the going is very rough. Hunters don´t care very much about luxury lodging and you´ll not find pubs open the full day long, like you could at the central places where red stags are hunted.
Depending on the year´s months, both zones are very productive. I personally like most that called "the desert", that is the Atuel area.
Any other question you may have, please ask me that I´ll answer ASAP. Take into account that the hogs hunted there are almost pure sus scrofa, not the usual mixed blood pigs or feral domestic ones.
To Bill:
I only remember that the plane was a Cessna, but I can´t assure if it was a 182 or 172.
The landing train was fixed thus it was not a 210 (like you may see, I´m no expert in aircrafts).
To Lorenzo:
Oh well, I don´t like quarreling but you looked after it...wait and see
