TumbleweedThere are some bloody big snakes crawling around out there. One time, in the Sudan, there was a bunch of excitement when one of the indig labor crew found a freshly shed skin - I paced it off at about 7 good steps. Pretty impressive!
When I turned around, the whole crew was gone snake hunting! Apparently a big snake with a new skin with hardly any miles on it is worth a quite a bit. No, they didn't find it, so I never did get to see the snake itself..knowing that bunch, there was probably so much jabbering and racket that the snake was across the Nile and gone well before they got within 10 miles..
I was a lot more cautious about 'after dark' trips to the outdoor biffy after that....
