Frostbite, Don't I wish!! It was a clone that I built back in the late eighties. Unfortunately, it was lost when my shop burned down in 2006 along with my 70 Challenger R/T(Real). It was a beauty though, but the VIN was always visible, and it was a factory A/c car which no 69.5 440-6 was. I just always loved the look of them and built one for myself! No worries!! It's all about the enjoyment. Clones are fine as long as they are not passed off as the real thing. Had a lot of fun with my M-code! ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

Rich, Rumor has it that Ford isn't taking the development of the Hellcat lightly. I've read on a few unsubstantiated blogs that the new SVT Cobra will have upwards of 750 horsepower! The specific totals weren't quoted, but they're estimating that because Ford says they want it to have "more" horsepower than the Hellcat and new Z06. Seems like the HP war the Germans have been engaged in for the past decade or so is making its way stateside! _____________________________________________________ No safe queens!

Shelby has had the post production options for three or four years now. Looks like Ford wants to take the horsepower war in house with a 2015 SVT Cobra. You could return a Shelby for 725 or even 850 HP upgrades. That does not run afoul of the feds. Just before Shelby died, he showed the SL1000 model off. The 1000 stood for the actual brake horsepower rating. Not cheap by any means, you sent your GT500 and about a hundred and fifty grand down to Vegas.

Is the hellcat built on the same platform as the charger? If so then no freakin thanks. I rented one for a week this year out of curiosity, the thing had more body roll than any of my 60's Galaxies. I'm sure that could be improved since this was a rental charger, but really it was junk. And although roomy enough, as uncomfortable as hell. I haven't driven the challenger platform, I assume they are similar platforms, and the challenger is drop dead sexy IMO, but that rental turned me off of dodge more than the K-cars.

close. It is meant to claim the title of most horsepower ever in an American made car.

The Hellcat has adjustable suspension, all the way up to "track" so I doubt you will have to worry about body roll. My buddy got his last week for the sticker price of 65K...did not have to pay the crazy 10K over that because he was able to find a dealer who could get them and was willing to take his order of one.

Noted where recent tests put the Hellcat closer to 750 HP and 700 Lb ft torque. Nice that a Mfg. will actually under state their ratings…. I would like to get behind the wheel of one of these. More than a $400K Ferrari F12. EZ

Today I took a spin..as a passenger in my buddies 2015 Hellcat. That is one bad-ass car. The power came on super fast and it just never ended...the acceleration is just unbelievable for a car that size. One thing for sure..the engineers got this one right and I just can't see how it can be improved upon based on the power level, response and handling characteristics. My other buddy has a 2015 Z06, and both drove each-others rides and both stated it would be too close to call which is quicker/faster...but both agree the vette handles better(no real surprise though), and the vette is a bit more aerodynamic so that may tilt it slightly to the chevy. I do believe they are discussing a head to head show down. No doubt, at 65K the Hellcat is the biggest bang for the buck, with the Z06 running 30K more.

Really? I eat Hellcats and Cobras for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a regular basis! Not an F12 however. Just a 599. Red light to Red light, twisty roads, track. Whatever ... whenever!!! Sorry, I try to be pretty low key about this particular car of mine but sometimes the BullShit just gets a bit too deep to keep my mouth shut!

Todd, different category. Nothing about the Hellcat is BS. Tell us about tying on an Aventador...

Do you have one you want me to tie on to? BTW, not saying the HellCat is BS. I love American Muscle Cars! Got a 2002 Viper. Actually love driving that car more than the Ferrari. Mainly due to the stick vs paddles. It's more visceral, although MUCH MUCH slower! But ultimately, they aren't even close to being in the same performance league!! What's BS is all this talk of this is better than that! Oh Yeah, well if this had that, then it'd be better. Sounds like a bunch of High School boys talking shit under the smoking tree at lunch break! That's what's BS! That and his statement that I highlighted in my original post. I'm not buying that one. And BTW, ezridr is the one that brought the discussion into the same category! As stated, I usually stay out of it with this car because of the negative remarks it's known to receive.

I love when a Hellcat or new Z06 gets behind me and try's to egg me on when I am in my Supercharged C6. There hasn't been one that is capable of keeping up with me in a straight line. The Hellcat is an amazing feat of engineering for a family size sedan. But it is still a sedan and not very good in the handling department. Its a great compromise for the guy who wants a hot rod and still needs a back seat and trunk. If I had the cash and needed a full size sedan would be proud to own one. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Todd, that's a sweet looking car and great fun to drive I'm sure. I'm a truck guy, but I do appreciate fast cars. My youngest daughter is waiting for her older two siblings to go to college so there's just the two of us. Then we get a muscle car! Interestingly, I got the impression from eezridr's post that he'd rather get behind the wheel of a Hellcat than that of an F12, not necessarily that the F12 is a lesser car. _____________________ A successful man is one who earns more money than his wife can spend.

Hey Todd, from the reviews I have read, the 599 is a mid 11 second quarter mile car with a professional driver, this puts it right in there with many of the American muscle cars you eat for lunch, stop light to light. Has your car been breathed on or is it stock? I live in Houston and we have lots of fast cars, but I still have not seen all that many Challenger Hellcats on the street yet, but many times the folks that buy these cars are not necessarily skilled drivers capable of driving their car to the levels they are capable of! A Hellcat or a Cobra certainly cannot hang with your Ferrari on a road course, apples to oranges, but you must be running up against some really unskilled drivers up in N.Central TX. or you have a lot more than 661 horsepower! I'm not doubting you a bit on your experiences , just curious to know more about your setup! DRSS(We Band of Bubba's Div.) N.R.A (Life) T.S.R.A (Life) D.S.C.

We will never really know, as Ferrari will not loan test cars to magazines unless they promise no head to head comparisons. That according to R&T and C&D.
