That uuuuuuuuuhhhhhh! sound of carbs opening and hitting the throttle stops is some of the best music to be found, anywhere.

Not to mention that not a single factory car has been produced since 1970 that has a lower drag coefficient than the Superbird.

And you would be amazed at how nimble that house is when the two outboard carbs open up! I miss my old six pack......

Show up sometime and you can have mine for the day, bring enough guns and you can take it home with you and I'll keep the blue one.. Big Grin

Bill, Post up a picture of the whole car for everyone to drool. Personally, I'd take your wagon instead. Big Grin

Cheers

What's the CD for a Superbird?

0.28

Looks like a few cars have better drag coefficients but most were not factory production cars and were built much later.

I doubt they could do it justice; the new Challengers are nicely done. Having said that, I am deeply suspicious of cars with too much electronic gimcrackery.

Obviously you've never experienced the thrill of launch control or turned off the electronic stability control of a Ferrari or took highway bridge U turn at 50 with a (new) 911 turbo.

My big ass 550 Coupe actually begins to steer into a high speed corner the faster you go- not a centrifugal over steer outward, lifting body roll, but a well balanced centripetal nosing in.

Active suspension rocks. Between that and paddle shifts, fuckin eh bubba...................don't get me wrong I love playing around in my son's 6 sp Boxster. But I consider that just a fun little (pip squeak) car.

That being said, I've always had a fondness for Mopars. Just fucking cool ass cars. To all those who've posted here, a big thumbs up.

There are two types of people in the world: those that get things done and those who make excuses. There are no others.

I some how managed to hold on to my 1969 Bahama Yellow Roadrunner and was able to restore it a few years ago. I bought it The day after I came home from Viet Nam. It is numbers matching 383. My wife and I also have a 64 Dodge Polara 500 with a 440 4 speed and a 2010 Challenger R/T Classic. We Love Mopars.

I grew up in the 60s and drooled over muscle cars. Several guys in my small Kansas town had road runners and chargers with lots of HP. And there was some hot 396 chevelles also.
But rather than pay $75-100 grand for a 50 year old car, you can get a new corvette that will blow the doors off the 60s muscle cars and its a whole lot more comfortable. Yes I know, the nostalgia.
