Thanks Roger, I might take you up on it eventually. It looks as though you're into the MS, too. Unfortunately my old 1927 Breda has developed set-back. I thought that would be the end of it until I found a post-1930 Steyr action (claimed to be the 1903 Greek pattern) at a gunshow for $350. The seller said he would give me the barrel, too, and it might be better than mine, which is dark but shoots well. My minimalist sporterising uses a rifle's original wood and, while the old Greek stock is ugly as an Enfield's, it has enough meat to carve a profile not unlike that on some commercial models. |
