Hello I'm not familiar at all with the 1903 rifles. Are these pics good enough to tell if this is a 1903 or a 1903 A3? I would like to fit a scope on this and need to know which base to buy. Thanks much ![]() http://i48.photobucket.com/alb...rafswede/1903jpg.jpg Why do they call it common sense, when it is so uncommon??

Check under that rear sight. If 1903A3, there will be a raised dovetail for the military sight. I mention this because I have seen two 1903A3's (according to receiver stamp and serial) with the dovetail ground off to match a 1903. Bruce
