I have an AR match rifle with a float tube that requires a spanner with a round peg. The float tube nut and jam nut are simply a smooth tubes with a hole in it to catch the spanner. I am not finding a spanner like this. I see there are automotive spanners that may work. I could make a spanner but would prefer not to. They are out of stock where I have looked. Where can I get one?
AR float tubes vary a lot. Also many are installed with Red Loctite. Red Loctite requires heat for removal. A strap wrench may or may not work depending on the design of the tube and/or barrel nut. You need to determine the manufacturer and model of the float tube and go from there. Pics here would help as well.
