Can someone who has a Winchester Model 70 338 Win Mag tell me the diameter of the barrel at the muzzle? Thanks!

According to my dial calipers on my left hand classic stainless 338, that number would be .581" at muzzle. I believe that Winchester uses the same contour for all the mag. calibers with 26" barrels. Hope this helps.

Ken Cline,

If you ever think about departing with your left hand .338 Classic Stainless, please, by all means contact me.

Thanks!

Scott, my last Win 70 stainless 338 I cut back to 22" (I've had a couple with that length)... it's .622" @ 22".

Measured my 26" stainless classic muzzle at 0.5565". This is a right handed M-70. Can't tell you why there is a .03" variance between the two rifles.

I just dug-out the barrel piece from my shortened 338 barrel... it mic's .572" at the 26" end. While safe, still too thin, IMO, for a .338" bore.
