Any of you guys install speed locks in Mausers to quicken the lock time or is it not worth the bother. thanks | ||

Not worth it and it makes the bolt hard to open for no real gain. You have too much iron in the system to move. | |||

I recommend just installing a Timney trigger, perhaps a mod. 70 3 pos. safety and go hunt.. Just not much if any improvement with the speed lock, and certainly never changed my guns ability to group or anything else...I tried a couple some years ago.... I once shortened the striker travel on a FN single shot and installed a titanium pin and heavy spring. The rifle shot just as well after the mods as it did before so at least, I didn't hurt it any. Regards, Bill. | |||
