You can replace the bushing; Brownells has them; but will never get the stake marks out of the frame, short of tig welding them up; which would be dumb.
They are supposed to be staked with one round punch from the front; guess his got loose and all he had was a two pound ball pein hammer and a big center punch.
Looks like bubba hit the punch close too the FP hole; if it does not hang up on that,
Just shoot it as is.

Is that staking or cratering around the primer? Can't believe someone would do that with a staking tool.

Found out seller said he believes it’s gas cutting due to hot loads. My mind says stay away.

Leave it as it is and fill the staking or gas cutting holes!!! with a metal epoxy suitably coloured to match the blued steel. It is really only cosmetic.

I would check out the rest of it and not worry too much if it were sound and the price right.

I have marks like this on a fairly low round count revolver that seemed to leak primers no matter what. Brass was not readily available here and the brass was probably a bit loose, but the point is loads were not particularly heavy. Things are not always as they may seem. Calibre is 475 Lin in case someone wondered.

That isn't gas cutting, not even close...Someone went stake crazy..I would just replace it and stake it properly..Perhaps send it to S&W..no big deal but I couldn't live with it as is, but that's just me..

Too late for that; the original staking was a round circle which is barely visible in the photo; if you punch out and replace the FP bushing, the staking will still be on the frame.
No cure; shoot it and forget about it.

I agree. If you are still adamant, then for your next chore, try putting toothpaste back in the tube. I'm sorry, that was rude. Just enjoy your 41 as is. It is a great revolver + calibre.
