I have a 1917 Remington action (partially sporterized) with a shot out barrel. I want to use it for a 416 Rem Mag or larger. I have a P14 bolt. If I order a prethreaded and chambered barrel, do I order one for a P14 so the breach is non-coned? Are the threads the same on the 1914 and the 1917? I have read the archives but could not find a definative answer to the above question. Scott | ||

There's an immense amount of work goes into making a P-17 shoot the .416 round so I'd just take the action and bolt to your smith and let him decide how to deal with that. I'd recommend you not order a barrel....tell your smith which barrel you want and let him do it..... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
