Damn nice stuff but it almost seems a shame that there isn't a company in the U.S. that makes all of this stuff.

Are these the same as NECG Works sights and other parts?

I suppose I am having the same reaction as Doug.

Yes, Mark they are. Recknagel makes them in Germany, NECG imports them into the US.

Here's the Lothar Walther barrel most of this goes on.

Chris-

I know that you have posted this before but, I cannot find it now, what pattern/profile is that barrel and what caliber is that beauty going to be?

It's the Lothar Walther Contour #5130: "Mauser Type E Sporter"

This one is in 404. Woody says this profile was originally taken from a 404.

You already told me, but I turn fifty in three weeks (that means I have to be re-trained after every coffee break and afternoon nap, lets not talk about dribbling on my waders when I pee in Alaska on fishing trips....), so, what is the caliber going to be???

Soooooowwwwwwwweeeeeeeett!

The nice thing about that barrel in a lighter caliber is the front claw base could be attached to a band around the straight shanked portion.

Sorry could not resist..
Actually nice looking parts. I do like the "stepped" Barrel.
And in 404... CLASSIC.

I like Bolt Rifles too... Just do not tell the members of the DRSS... Big Grin

OH.. Just wait till they see my new Big Medicine gun, a takedown 1895 in 405 WCF.

I cannot wait to see them on the barrel. Ihave the same profile barrel in 6.5mm and plan on using the same equipment...barrel banded swivel, island for the rear sight and the front sight!

New Guy, does Lothat Walthar make barrels in the USA, or only in Europe? I like the looks of your barrel.

New_Guy,
Hope your 404 Jeffery turns out as good as mine did. Lothar-Walther Magnum Sporter contour looks real good on these two!

As info, I sent an e-mail to Recknagel a few months ago, telling them how much I would like to have their catalogue. Within 3 weeks, that lovely, glossy, catalogue, full of lip-smacking goodies, was on my doorstep, no charge!
