and from what I've read merely window washing.... merely changing the title won't do justice here. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Merely changing Mr. Cooper's title is further betrayl and insult to American shooters and a mis-guided strategy that will break Cooper Firearms.

As far as Cabelas being a large distributer of Cooper rifles, would it be a good idea to write or e-mail the Cabelas folks about this and tell them if they continue to sell their rifles, you will do your sporting goods business elsewhere? I live within 15 miles of a Cabelas store and intend to verbally get my message across to the management there. I spend roughly 4-5 grand a year at that store so I hope I am heard.

There is much more to politics than guns. However, I find that the gun issue is a good analog for the rest of politics. If a politician doesn't trust me with a gun, it's a pretty sure thing he doesn't trust my judgment on how to raise my kids, how to spend my money, how to heat my house, how to spend my charitable money, etc, etc. The position of a politician on public gun ownership is a pretty good proxy for his basic beliefs on the ability of those members of society to take care of themselves. FWIW, Dutch. Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

Dutch...very good point.

Exactly. A Politician's stand for guns is MY indicator that the politician also stands for our constitution, and has the mental faculties to THINK rationally, and make sound decisions in office. As Westpac said, everything else will get sorted out. I asked the question earlier about Dan Cooper's marital status. The answer to that question would provide me with a clue as to why Dan Cooper is attracted to Obama, one way or the other. Don

Someone will have to be smarter than I am. I looked several places trying to find their stock symbol and came up blank. Are we even sure it is a public traded stock? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

As I understand it's 51% owned by Dan Cooper and of course he cannot be terminated in this case unless he sells off the stock he owns.....I truly suspect it's more of a private stock company and wouldn't be surprised if 49 % of the stock was held by close relatives and friends with deep pockets. Even a few publically traded companies' stock is held by (what is called) friendly stockholders..... Dan has pissed in his wheaties and I hope he eats them all.....the bowl will sit in front of him a long time. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Roger - I say this to you as a friend and not as a chastisment. (I tried to PM it to you, but for some reason AR would not accept my PM message to you.) If you want to end the war in Iraq (or Af'stan, or everywhere else pur troops keep being placed in danger) there may be better ways to do that than voting an opportunistic enemy of the people like Obama into office as President of the whole country. What we may really need to do is to vote into office a Senate majority which hears and follows the will of the people...on war, on guns, on everything else. Given a sound Senate, extremist Presidents of whatever extremes are rendered irrelevant because of the Senate's control of the public purse. So I suggest you better use your votes to keep both Obama and others out of both the Presidency and the Senate if they are not "of the people".

He's also involved in day-to-day operations, designs, purchasing, etc. I dont think he's going anywhere. Like everyone else, I firmly believe the company's disclaimer is pure bs.

I am constantly amazed by people that would vote against their own interests. Cooper and seemingly j. poulsen and bartsche are just the latest examples. Dutch's comments are spot on. Those who would remove the 2nd Amendment from the Constitution, would happily remove more. In Obama's own words "...just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can't constrain the exercise of that right...". IMHO, Cooper Arms is toast. Their BOD will have to take a much stronger position if the company is to survive. Sadly, it is the employees that will take the biggest hit.

-and Cooper is a dumbass for not taking pains to hedge against this. Let him worship his savior, but not on my dime.

Yep. And I submit that consideration for his employees never entered his mind when he CHOSE to support Obama. It was a deeper level issue that had him be attracted to Obama.. Sad... Don

+1 Dutch! You have just described the thinking of the Liberals here in Canada! (these would be the equvilant to your Democrats) You have a constitutional right to bear arms! Protect it at all costs! If any of you think the democrats (liberals) are not dangerous, just look at other countries such as Briton, Austraila, Newzealond etc. and see what happened there.

Just because you like to shoot and have a computer does not mean you are a conservative or even have the cognitive ability any longer to see what Osama or even worse people in our industry that send him money are doing. Bottom line is Dan Cooper is helping to do away with the ability of Everyone (this means you as well) to own firearms..

The Second Amendment is but 28 words. It is ridiculously simple. It states that States have the Right to raise organized militias against an overbearing or tyrannical federal government, and that the People of the States have the Right to own and use firearms in defense of their Freedoms, themselves, their families, their homes and their State. The Right of the People to own and use firearms shall not suffer infringment. Period. While I have used words from the 20th century to put forth what is implicit in the Amendment, the Framers were much more adept at the English language than me and kept it simple and succinct.
