After my 11th million screwup, I lost any and all shame and am completely comfortable with admitting and owning up to them. One was going to open up a mauser action for 375. Yep,I completely destroyed it. Well, don't matter if your 10 or 50 your Dad is still your Dad and he kept it out on a shelf in plain view instead of throwing it away so I could constantly see it. (not sure if that was a ramble or preamble) Anyhow, a couple months before muzzleloading season he and old buddie talked up a hunt. He didn't have a gun. Well, here's that action. He turned down and fitted a 50 cal. Douglas bbl. Modified the bolt,fit an old military stock for a ramrod. Shoots like a demon. ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

That's a gorgeous piece of wood! I have a muzzleloader I built from a kit with a nice piece of wood. But a Mauser, muzzleloader, with nice wood. There's a keeper. | |||
