The factory trigger is not adjustable and are usually quite heavy. I called Timney about a dozen years ago, they told me replacing just the trigger spring usually helped a lot, I told them to send me two and they did at no charge. I put one in each rifle and still am using them that way, new pull is about 56 oz. Not the best trigger but fine for me and a heck of a lot better than the original 6-7 pounds pull.

As you've discovered, the factory trigger is not ajustable, but, turning that factory trigger into something decent is pretty simple as triggers go. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. simple thing to do - just take the pin out that holds the trigger assembly on the receiver. take the spring out and replace it with a much weaker (but slightly longer) one. you can also hone the parts a bit, but the spring change will take it down to a 2.5-4# pull (depending on the spring) It actually takes longer to take the barreled action out of the stock then it down to do the trigger

Not a smith myself but I had my smith work on the trigger of my 77 Mk II... It's at about 3 pounds and has ZERO creep... My smith is pretty good but I suspect most smiths can take care of the Ruger "lawyer trigger" ![]() Ken.... On my two m77 rifles the same job is done as Heat describes. Clean letoff at approx 3 pounds. For big game rifles that is plenty OK for me. Arild Iversen.
