I like a matte, bead blasted finish. I have also Duracoated a few. I don't care for Ruger's polished finish. **************** NRA Life Benefactor Member

Personally I like a bead blast finish. but a nice rendition of blueing on stainless looks good as well. I just don't like anything that looks painted unless it's military black rifle tactical stuff. Every finish has it's place like camo on an AR15 or nickle on a SXS shotgun. But you would not normally engrave a an AR15 with leaf scrolls nor would you camo a SXS or O/U shotgun. it's just out of place to me www.KLStottlemyer.com Deport the Homeless and Give the Illegals citizenship. I like either a bead-blast or vapor honed finish. The vapor honed looks the nicer of the two though.

I don't know what it is or what it is called, but I really like the greyish, bead blasted finish on some of the Ruger stainless M77/22M and 77/22H rifles. My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

I have used FalconCoat which resembles a matte blue finnish. One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

I like the bead blasted stainless, with no other coating or finish. Especially with a nice piece of walnut -- kind of contradictory, I know. But when the stock is dark and nicely figured, the look of a stainless/wood rifle is something special. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I prefer bead blasting the stainless, then buffing out with a scotch-brite pad soaked in Kroil or WD-40. It knocks down the 'roughness' and leaves a very nice dull sheen. Shoot straight, shoot often. Matt
