What size action can I use to build a 9X64 Brenneke ? I think it will fit on a standard length FN action, but is that the ideal size ? ____________________________ .470 & 9.3X74R Chapuis' Tikka O/U 9.3X74R Searcy Classics 450/.400 3" & .577 C&H .375 2 1/2" Krieghoff .500 NE Member Dallas Safari Club

I've been re-chambering and modifying a Husky 9.3 to 9.3x64. Works so far. Now if only the original barrel had not been screwed up so bad... I've done several using Mk X actions, FN's, a Husqvarna M146, and Milsurp 98's. No problems with any. Aut vincere aut mori

Ask your 'smith to pay attention to magazine box width at the cartridge shoulder location. The metal can get mighty thin while chasing the correct internal box width. z1r recently did some nice work on my Mark X. Mark Stratton had started the project; I will have James Anderson finish up the magazine box; I guess I will do the wood. Outstanding cartridge!
