Rebarreling a Mini Mauser to 350 Legend
I just acquired a Zastava Mini Mauser action in .223 boltface. I had the bright idea of barreling it to 350 Legend since the case heads are the same as the .223. I tried a few rounds in the magazine but I can't get but two down. There is plenty of length in the magazine. The rails appear to need opening. Also, the cartridge is picked up by the bolt on the right side, but not the left side (This is a left hand gun). Can someone recommend a gunsmith willing to tackle getting the gun to feed? I can have it barreled by a couple of barrel companies, but they don't do action work.

nice -- I like the thought -- I've got a savage in 223 that just might get the same

i would cal Dave Manson and McGowen -
Dave to ensure that my reamer is setup for .358 bullets
McGowen for the barrel and perhaps the work

I could definitely do it for you, next year.

I didn't mean from you...
My analysis is not based on opinion though; just facts.

Sharp rifle company are bankrupt so it might get hard to get correct brass as the base are slightly wider on .350legend.

Jes is doing barrel reboring to 350 Legend should you want to use the existing barrel. You only need to have ~.500" at the finished end of the factory barrel. Not sure he can help you with the feeding issues, but it might be worth asking.

The factory ammo that's out uses 9mm bullets. But if you're buying barrels and reamers and making your own ammo you can do whatever you want.

As I have said, and this is only for reloads, which 90% of deer hunters are not, most of us have piles of 357 bullets we would want to use in any 350 build, for practice if nothing else. So, in my opinion only, they made a huge mistake in making the 350, a 9mm. I know the reasons, but for reloaders, all of them were bad ones. Yes, I know the SAAMI spec is .358, but MINUS .003, which is still within spec and now the chamber won't take larger bullets.
So, as stated, a custom reamer is in order. If I had more than a couple of barrel jobs to do, I would get one. A reamer I mean.

The .355" bore seemed odd to me as well, but perhaps they thought that most .358" bullet jackets were too tough. Then again, the old Hornady 358 180 gr. SSP bullet would have been a perfect match for this cartridge. I have a 350 Legend and just bought a $20 Lee .356" push through sizing die to make .358" jacketed bullets suitable.

That is not the reason; they wanted to use their massive 9mm bullet production tooling for it. .357s are far less popular nowadays; 9mm is many times more lucrative so they have production capacity for that caliber of bullet. And as I said, and it is very popular here because we can't use bottlenecks, none of these deer hunters reload anyway. So they don't care what the actual diameter is.

The only think Legendary is the short sightedness of making a round that reloaders can’t use 358 bullets in. I hope a version II capable of using 358 bullets gets more popular than the original.

There will be no version 2, not by the big guys anyway; that would only make for confusion and jammed rifles. Do not give the average hunter much credit for being rifle savvy.

I like his video; he got 1900 fps with the 200 grainer; almost a 35 Remington!
(He had a Savage AXIS, not a Savage ACCESS. )
I think I will call PTG and get a reamer......
