there was a post here a couple months ago about a guy in the SE part of the country that was making cocking piece peep sights. I forgot his contact information. Can somebody help out here?

I believe it is the poster on Ar that goes by "Rusty Marlin". In Virginia IIRC.

Rusty Marlin is correct.

I have one of his sights on my 500 Jeffery.

I'm going to have him regulate the sights for me once I get a final load worked up.

416 grains, plus or minus. I've only weighed one.

That's pretty slick. How does it mount to the cocking piece? Do you supply the mount or does the smith that installs it fab that up?

Its dovetailed directly into the cocking piece.
The size is a nominal .290 dia x 60 deg, which corresponds to a Brownells stocked cutter.
