malm and Alberta,

I have said from the start that I am only considering properly inletted and bedded rifles that also had proper torque applied to the action screws to hold everything together. Now you guys want to switch over to sloppy inletting, sloppy bedding, and loose screws????????

If you have a bent action screw how did you go about determining that it got bent due to torque rather than recoil?

Amen to that, jeffe! That’s why I have repeatedly stated that if someone truly believes that tight bedding of the recoil lug sides/front is going to help keep their rifle together then they should go for it because it certainly isn’t going to hurt anything.

Just as a side note...I said I didn’t “own†any heavy kicking rifles, never said I hadn’t shot any. beer
