Original HK91 Colt AR15 with collapsible stock preban Original S&W Performance Center Model 629 Hunter Glock 17L - I took third in my class at IPSC Nationals with that one. Spanish FR-8 Mauser. 1) Original Colt AR-15 SP-1 from early 1980s; 2) One of the first Thompson/Auto-ordnance .45ACP semi-auto carbines from 1983; 3) Nice Ruger 10/22 from 1985; 4) SGW AR-15 carbine from early 1980s. After selling these, I learned to never sell a gun unless I replaced it with another. You never know when some asshole liberal president is going to come along and ban them because one of his wacko leftist advocacy groups doesn't like the look of a particular gun.

Ruger M77 heavy barrel in .22-250 that I bought new for $145 (how long ago was that?). It was the first rifle I reloaded for and dumb luck struck immediately, as the first load I tried shot under .5" and I never found a better one. An old pilot, not a bold pilot, aka "the pig murdering fool"

I have never sold a rifle, but sold a Benelli shotgun that i regretted as he pulled out of the driveway. I determined right then that unless i bot a lemon in the first place, i would never sell another gun. For me, guns are for buying, not selling!!!! Jim R

Never much bothers me to sell a gun. They aren't friends, they're tools. That said, I had a model 88 Winchester I wish I had back. Nothing special about it except it was my 1st hunting rifle. I've thought about replacing it with another many times, but then I think about how much it would cost. I guess it wasn't that damn special after all Terry -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I am with 500 grs on this. I can't think of a single rifle I sold that I regreted. Anytime I sold something I added more dollars and bought something better. I have sold a action or two over the years that I wouldn't mind still having, but they were parts and projects, which were major projects that I didn't intend to fund anytime in the near future. Edit: Allen that is a painful list.

vapodog reminded me about a Marlin 39 that also somehow got away from me. A couple others were a 30-40 Krag sporter and a Winchester 401 self loader. The latter was dumped rather hastily, as well as unfairly, because it failed to bring down a big whitetail buck one year. When a person is young it is often easy to blame everything but yourself for such an instance. Forty years have tought me that sometimes I am not nearly as good as I might think I am and it has also made me a better overall hunter. I often wish I had that rifle back again to give it another chance that it no doubt deserved. ****************************** "We do not exaggerate when we state positively that the remodelled Springfield is the best and most suitable "all 'round" rifle".......Seymour Griffin, GRIFFIN & HOWE, Inc.

I haven' sold that many rifles. I regret selling a S&W (Howa) 1500 Deluxe that shot 150 gr Corelokt factory ammo into sub-inch groups all day long. - An early Ruger #1S in 300Win, after bedding it was a great shooter and had a beautiful stock. - A Kimber M84 custom classic in 223 Rem. - A 1969 M70 with a Shilen tube in 300Wby. Don't laugh, it had the most spectacular sunburst on the stock I have ever seen. - A Ruger #1B 25-06. With the tension screw installed in the foreend it was ridiculously accurate. Shot my best whitetail with that one. - A Steyr Mannlicher Model L in 6mm Rem. Firing "one-shot" groups, this little beaut would make a washer out of a dime every time at 100 yards. - A 1957 M70 std rifle in 270 Win. Not fancy, just the most honest, accurate rifle I have ever owned. I miss that one the most...

I think the list is short, because long ago I got to the point where I quit selling and just bought. Therefore the list of what didn't I buy is longer and sadder As to those I sold: 1920 DWM Commercial Luger 1908 Mannlicher-Schoenauer (rifle not carbine with swinging Lyman peep) Parker double Colt Bisley 38 WCF Winchester 07 (Mint) Top 5 I didn't buy: Winchester 21 C Sharps 40-65 Bren 10 with working mags Savage 99A 358 LH Weatherby 300 (built on the Matheiu action) Guild Drilling Top 5 they wouldn't sell me: I've know a few dealers who were that way, not for sale then suddenly they would sell. Timing! Win 71 3 digit serial # Marlin 90 o/u 410 S&W 44 Special origional (fixed sight model 21 or 22) Winchester 1885 38-55 bench (slug) gun 303 Double Rifle Thaine "Begging hands and bleeding hearts will always cry out for more..." Only two: Colt AR-15 SP1 with original electroless nickle plating. It was a special run for the USCG. I sold it to get a AR-15 HBAR. Ruger #3 in .223 I never really shot the gun but it was just a neat little rifle. I might have regreted selling a M70 in .22/3000 that was original with the papers to prove it but since I used the proceeds to get a very nice collection of other Pre-64 M70's I can't regret it that much.
