As a really old friend of mine once told me about diesel trucks, "the only thing I can tell you is the guys who name them are sex fiends. She says 'Oh baby he's a Cummins', What man doesn't tell his girl he has a powerstroke and a duramax is just a condom".

He drove the Ford and I have a Dodge.

I think consumer reports rated the 1/2 ton Dodge diesel as the worst vehicle in America.
Hope it is just 1st year bugs as I like the idea of a 1/2 ton diesel.

Bought my first Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Fiat or whatever product a year ago. A 2015 Ram 2500 megacab 4X4 cummins.
Could not be more happy. 21 MPG @ 75 MPH, climbs hills like a mountain goat. Extremely comfortable on the road. Just 33K miles so far and not one bit of trouble. Plenty of power!
Very Happy Camper!

Do you guys with diesels remove all the emissions controls from your engines for better mileage or more power?

No, They are on there for a purpose. In some places it wouldn't pass an emissions test. If you need more power, get a more powerful truck or for more MPG buy a Jap. little truck.

The fellows I know of just buy the programming kit and program the computer for whatever they want; either mileage or power. It does not effect the emmisions.

Something like this: Diesel fuel increase

Google diesel programmer for mileage.
